Prayer: What Do You Want to See God Do in 2019?

It’s the new year, and we’re kicking it off by discussing prayer! Does it ever feel like prayer is more for our own comfort than for any kind of real results? There are truth and lies about what prayer is and what it isn’t. The actions and attitude of Jacob can teach us a lot about the power of prayer, and what our own prayer lives should look like. Not only did Jacob know how and when to bring his petitions before the Lord, he literally wrestled with God in order to receive His blessing! Much in the same way, our own prayer lives should show attitudes of both persistence and submission. We show faith in the character of God when we persist in prayer. When is the last time you wrestled with God in prayer? How exactly are we to pray? What are some truths to be learned about prayer? When we pray we can expect action from God, but He also expects action from us as well. Watch and learn as we glean knowledge from the story of Jacob and apply it to our own lives as we discuss the power of prayer.
