Love is Selfless

Series: Messy: Loving Others Isn’t Easy

Love is Selfless

May 19, 2019 | Dane Aaker

Love is…  This concept is too big to put into one simple phrase. We’re starting a new series this week based on 1 Corinthians 13; often called “the love chapter” and it shows us several examples of what love is, as well as what it isn’t. The Apostle Paul describes the importance of love to the church at Corinth, stating again and again how futile a life without love is. Even Jesus tells us that the greatest commandments are to love God, and love people. This love that they speak of isn’t simply concerned about dating and marriage, we are called to love others in a selfless way. While love is our most important goal, selfishness is our biggest obstacle. Life is about more than just serving ourselves, and loving others is a way of expressing and sharing our faith. What is selfless love? What does this kind of love look like? How do we learn to love selflessly for all people that we encounter in life? Faith expresses itself through love, watch as we begin our series and learn to invest in LOVE!
